Bootjack: Jean Shirley Serotzke, 88, former Illinois resident, passed away at The Lighthouse of Hubbell, on December 18, 2017 with family by her side.
She was born on October 9, 1929, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Eugene and Violet (Vogel) Securan.
She was married to Joseph J. Serotzke on October 21, 1950. He passed away on August 18, 1982.
Jean was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, and twin sister-Joan Kane.
She is survived by: 2 sons-Mike (Carole) Serotzke of Marengo, IL and Mark (Christie) Serotzke of Bootjack; 5 grandchildren-Marcia (Scott) Pal, Craig Serotzke, Michele (Rob) Perz, Joseph (Jazmine) Serotzke, and Austin Serotzke; and 5 great-grandchildren-Quentin, Colten, Carli, Bentley, and Harper.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Fr. Abraham Mupparathara and Fr. Joseph Boakye Yiadom to concelebrate. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden, MI is in charge of arrangements.
The graveside service will be at noon on Saturday, January 6, at the Windridge Cemetery in Cary, IL.
In Lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Bootjack Fire and Rescue Foundation.
