William Leonard Sikkema

Gay Road: William Leonard Sikkema, of the Gay Road, passed away at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on May 9, 2023, with his family by his side.

                He was born July 3, 1943, a son of Jay and Harriet Sikkema

                He owned and operated “Wildlife in Wood Carvings.”

 He was married to Esther Ruth Sikkema at Sunshine Church in Grand Rapids on July 3, 1971.  She passed away on January 8, 2017.

               William loved fishing, gathering wood, and reading the Bible.

                He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

He is survived by: 4 children-Shawn Sikkema, Jody (John) Suttles, Troy Sikkema, and Michael (Becky) Sikkema; 7 grandchildren-Kaitlyn, Nichole, Cassandra, Katie R., Katie S., Josie, and Emmie; “adopted daughter”-Patti Jo Gilliam; and caregivers- Teri VanNorman and Courtney Marie VanNorman.

                Private Family services will be held. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
