Thomas Monette

Traprock Valley: Thomas Monette, age 63, of Traprock Valley, passed away at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium on June 7, 2023, after a short illness.

He was born on August 18, 1959, a son of Paul and Shirley (Zerbst) Monette.  He attended Lake Linden-Hubbell High School and graduated in 1977.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Village of Laurium.

He was married to Cheryl Heikkila at First Lutheran Church in Dollar Bay.

Thomas was a member of the Sons of the American Legion.  He was interested in cars, tractors, and anything else with a motor.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-James.

He is survived by: his wife-Cheryl; siblings-Pauline (Steven) Wuoti, Michael (Tammy) Monette, Charlotte Monette, and Jennifer (Dan) Abramson; his best friend-Oakie; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The memorial service will be at 2:30 on Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with Rev. Bucky Beach to officiate.
