Terry Gariepy

Lake Linden: Terry Gariepy, 71, of Lake Linden, passed away at Canal View-Houghton County on March 5, 2021, after a lengthy battle with MS.
     He was born on November 24, 1949, a son of Reuben "Jake" and Lois (Vivian) Gariepy.  He graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School in 1967 and attended Michigan Tech.
     Terry worked for the Village of Lake Linden, Michigan Department of Social Services, and owned and operated Copperland in Lake Linden until he retired in 2014.
     He was married to Jean Allen in Lake Linden on August 16, 1969.
     He enjoyed restoring old cars and played in "rock and roll" bands for many years.
     He was preceded in death by: his parents and a sister-Jan Kotajarvi.
     Terry is survived by: his wife-Jean of Lake Linden, son-Chris (Jessica) Gariepy of Lake Linden; grandsons-Jakob and Kaden; sister-Laurie (Dan) McLeod of Bootjack; brother-in-law-Mel Kotajarvi of Lake Linden; along with an aunt, uncle, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
     His family would like to thank Dr. Kass and the staff at Canal View for their care and treating Terry with dignity.  
     At Terry's request, there will be no public services.  The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
