Ross A. Seppala

Lake Linden: Ross A. Seppala, 49, of New Franken, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2017 after fighting a long battle with dystonia.
He was born January 25, 1968, in Laurium, Michigan, a son of Darlene (Rheault) Hughes and Bill Seppala. Ross graduated from the Lake Linden-Hubbell High School. After graduation he enlisted in the US Marines and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Milan, Philippines. He was honorably discharged in June of 1991.
After serving in the marines he aspired to be a lineman like his father and attended Alpena Community college where her earned a certificate in that field of work in 1993. He spent a short time after that in Lower Michigan working in the swimming pool business with his close friends from high school.
He then moved to Wisconsin and worked as a lineman for Phoenix cable systems. A short time after he moved to Green Bay took a position at Baycom communications for 17 years. While working there he moonlighted as tower climber, often repairing towers up to 300 feet high.
Ross worked very hard and took great pride in everything he did, from his time in the Marine’s, throughout his working career, and his many talents as a carpenter, landscaper, and interior design.
Ross was very close the last several years with his girlfriend Karrie Schultz from Gillett WI, and the dog Roxy who he loved dearly. He always enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his friends in the Green Bay area. He enjoyed being near the water, especially at the beach with his best friend Karrie, or with his family and friends in Bootjack. In his younger days he often hosted parties at his family's hunting camp in Bootjack where there was never a dull moment.
Ross touched many people's lives in so many positive ways. He had a great sense of humor and often told jokes that made everyone around him laugh. He greeted everyone with a smile and hug.
Ross is survived by his mother, Darlene Hughes of Green Bay, WI, father Bill Seppala of Lake Linden, brother Dean Seppala and sister in law Julie Seppala of Lake Linden, sister Maggie Seppala of Calumet, brother Matt Seppala of Calumet, niece Holly (Seppala) Ahnen of Charleston, SC, nephew Eric Seppala of Lake Linden, niece Erin Seppala of Lake Linden, 1 great nephew, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Also his special friend Karrie Schultz and his dog Roxy.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather Tim Hughes and his nephew Sean Seppala.
Visitation will be from 12:00 A.M until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 25, at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with a prayer service at 2:00.
