Hubbell: Rose Marie Poisson, 84, a resident of Hubbell, passed away on September 6, 2015 at Aspirus Keweenaw Hosptial in Laurium.
She was born on April 12, 1931 at the Lake Linden Hospital and was the daughter of Roland and Rose (Fretter) Perreault. She attended St. Cecilia School in Hubbell and then graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School in 1949.
After High School she was employed by Beaudry Insurance, C&H Mining Company and finally Michigan Tech where she remained for 27 years until her retirement in 1993.
She was a member of St. Cecilia Church in Hubbell and then a member of St. Joseph Church in Lake Linden. She was also an active member of the Michigan Association of Retired School Employees since her retirement.
She was married to Jerome Poisson on June 13, 1953.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, and her sister Nancy Codere.
She is survived by: her husband-Jerome of Our Lady of Mercy in Hubbell; two sons, David (Edla Poirier)of Hubbell and Ronald (Donna) of Lake Linden; two daughters, Debra of Hubbell and Nancy (Richard Grunow) of Santa Cruz, CA; four grandchildren, Brandon Rheault of Lake Linden, Joshua and Shane Poisson of Hubbell and Lucille “Lucy” Grunow of Santa Cruz, CA; brothers, Ronald “Bucky” of Ishpeming, Larry (Shirley), Dale (Donna) and Terry all of Lake Linden; and other numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a private family funeral liturgy at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 10 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with Father Francis Dobrzenski to officiate. Visitation will be for an hour before the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy donations may be made in her memory to Keweenaw Home Nursing & Hospice, Omega House or Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly.
