Ron Westerberg

Lake Linden: Ron Westerberg, 52, of Lake Linden, passed away on September 13, 2014 in Lake Linden, with his family by his side.

                He was born on November 19, 1961, a son of Bernard and Dorothy (Kupari) Westerberg.  He was a 1980 graduate of Lake Linden-Hubbell High School, where he excelled as a football running-back.  He attended Missabe College, where he played football.  Next, Ron enlisted in the Navy and served on the USS Buchanan.  Locally, Ron worked at Shopko, Cypress Manor, The Loading Zone, and Al’s Supper Club.

                Ron was an avid sports fan and a life-long Packer fan.  He worked for a time as an assistant football coach for Lake Linden-Hubbell.  He loved to joke around and had a great sense of humor.

                His family would like to thank Aspirus Keweenaw Hospice and Rachel for her love and care.

                He was preceded in death by his father, and a sister-Jodi Vichich.

                He is survived by: 3 children-Logan, Austin, and Kara of Lake Linden; mother of the children-Rachel Baldwin of Lake Linden; a grandson-Cayden Westerberg; mother-Dorothy Westerberg of Hubbell; brothers and sisters:- Sandra Judson of Cedarburg, WI; Steven (Rosie) of Lake Linden, Glen (Sandra) of Peshtigo, WI, Gary of Lakewood, CA, Gayle (Andre) Soumis of Chassell, and Valerie (Paul) Colombe of Grand Rapids; along with numerous other relatives.

                The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with Pastors Rodney Johnson and Charles Jousma to officiate.   Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service on Thursday.  Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
