Lake Linden: Roger Lewis, 57, of Lake Linden, passed away at home, after a battle with cancer, on May 21, 2023.
Roger was born on February 13, 1966, a son of Paul and Mary Lewis. He graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School in 1984. He also graduated from Gogebic Community College with a degree in Heavy Equipment Operation.
Roger worked various jobs throughout his life; most will remember him for his carpentry and meat processing work with his father.
Roger, along with Racheal, enjoyed many hours in the outdoors: metal detecting, fishing, and picking agates.
He was preceded in death by: his grandparents-James and Isola “Zoe” Lewis and Carl Jokela and Evelyn and Clarence Dault.
Roger is survived by: life partner-Racheal Baldwin of Lake Linden; 3 step-children-Logan (Ashley) Westerberg, Austin Westerberg, and Kara Westerberg; he was “Pappy” to 6 grandchildren-Madelyn, Cayden, Jack, Evie, Eloise, and Bhodi; his parents-Mary and Paul Lewis; sisters-Jill Galka and Jenny (Mike) Ojala; nieces and nephews-Jake, Katie, Nick, Elli, Emily, and Mason; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at the camp in Bootjack at a later date. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
