Lake Linden: Richard “Dick” Beiring, 72, of Lake Linden, passed away on January 20, 2016 at Our Lady of Mercy in Hubbell after a short illness.
Dick was born on February 28, 1943 in Hancock, a son of Raymond and Gladys (Mitchell) Beiring. He was a graduate of Hancock Central High School in 1962. He served in the US Navy from 1962-1964. He worked at Detroit Diesel for a year before returning to the Copper Country to work at McGann’s Building Supply in Hancock. Next, he worked at Silver Forest Products until it closed, Holzberger Brothers in Lake Linden, Ace Hardware in Calumet, and for the past 18 years at Quality Hardware in Lake Linden.
He was married to Debra Crouch on April 22, 1972 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden.
He was a member at the Calumet Golf Course. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and baseball. He liked watching sports and was a die-hard Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings fan.
He was preceded in death by: his parents and a special nephew-John Piippo.
He is survived by: his wife-Debbie of Lake Linden; a daughter-Kim (Scott) Codere of Lake Linden; 3 granddaughters-Bailey Codere of South Carolina and Morgan and Kirsten Codere of Lake Linden; brothers-Edward (Darlene) Beiring and Albert (Pat) Beiring; sisters-Mary Anne (Phil) Verville and Jean (Tom) Dutcher; Debbie’s sisters and brothers; special cat-Cosmo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Funeral Liturgy will be at 4:00 PM on Saturday at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with Deacon Art Stancher to officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday, from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
