Reuben Normand Obituary

Schoolcraft Township:  Reuben E. Normand, 87, of Schoolcraft Township,  passed away on February 26, 2022 at the GreenTree of Hubbell, where he had been a patient for the last 4 months.

He was born December 10, 1934, a son of Douglas and Helen (Hebert) Normand.  He attended Lake Linden-Hubbell Schools.

He worked at Valley View, which was his family's dairy farm.  He worked for Jilbert's Dairy, and for over 30 years at the Houghton County Road Commision.  After retirement, he worked for Leonard Hill Logging and throughout the years, he continued hobby farming.  He loved being outdoors, on the tractor.

He was married to Shelby Berryman on April 12, 1958 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Calumet.  She passed away on February 6, 2003.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother-Paul, 2 brothers-in-law-George Kiiskila, Sr. and Joseph Mahr, sister-in-law-Mary Normand, and little sister-Joan Normand.
 
Reuben is survived by: 3 daughters-Debbie Adams of Calumet, Sherri (Robert) Bessonen of Lake Linden, and Lori (Paul) Monette of Schoolcraft Twp; grandchildren-Josh Palmer, Stevie Adams, Jr, Kerri (Jim) Sullivan, Kelli (Steve) Bashynski, Kurt (Erin) Bessonen, and Natalie Monette; great-grandchildren-Beau, Lyndin, and Birdee Bashynski, Gwen and Eli Sullivan, Lillian and Owen Bessonen; brothers and sisters-Tom (Carol), Clarence "Jim" (Dottie), Bernard (Connie), Jane Kiiskila, Ann Mahr, and Mary (Gary) Bourdeau; sister-in-law-Darlene (Dave) Jarvi; companion-Doris Brisebois; along with several nieces and nephews.

There will be a private family service in the Spring. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
