Lake Linden: Mary Tomlinson, 86, of Lake Linden, passed away at Our Lady of Mercy on November 28, 2016.
Mary was born on September 20, 1930 in Mosinee, WI, a daughter of John and Josephine Slagoski. She attended schools in Wisconsin. She worked at various dry-cleaners in Wausau, WI. In 1954, she was married to Fred Sorlie. In 1967, she was married to Cecil Tomlinson. Together the operated the Maple Leaf in Lake Linden until 1974. Cecil passed away in 1989.
She liked gardening, reading, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed playing board games. She was an animal lover, especially cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Cecil, a step-son-Raymond Tomlinson, and a step-granddaughter-Donna.
She is survived by: 2 sons-Paul Sorlie of Houghton and Knute Sorlie of Wausau, WI; grandchildren-John, Scott, and Thomas of Wisconsin; stepsons-Bruce (Ann) Tomlinson of Northville, MI, and his son Scott, Bill Tomlinson of Phoenix, AZ, a step-daughter-in-law-Victoria of Sterling Heights, MI and her children-Claire and Anthony Tomlinson; favorite cousin-Lorraine; and various other relatives.
A memorial service is planned for June of 2017 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
