She attended grade school at the St. Cecilia Catholic School in Hubbell and then the Lake Linden – Hubbell High School.

In her youth Marjorie worked for Briggs and Straten in Milwaukee and held various jobs in Duluth and St. Paul, Minnesota and was a housekeeper for many years for the O’Brien Family.  She also worked at Michigan Tech in the Food Service Department.   After raising her family she returned to school and earned her CNA license and was a caregiver in many homes throughout the Keweenaw.

She was pre-deceased by:  her parents, Adelard Lajimodiere (father of her children) a sister,  Betty (Boyle) Erickson, brother, James Moehrke, niece Marsha (Boyle) Vertin and nephews Steven and Scott Moehrke and Joey Boyle.

She is survived by her children: Bernard (Darlene) Lajimodiere of Lakewood, Colorado, Patrick “Big Joe” (Deborah) Lajimodiere  and Chris (Colleen) Lajimodiere of Lake Linden, Adelard (Shannon) Lajimodiere of Houston, Texas, Debra Lajimodiere of Dollar Bay and Eileen Lajimodiere of San Marcos, California, five grandchildren, Lynn Lajimodiere of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Chris (Tania) Lajimodiere of Negaunee, MI, Jesse (Shelly) Lajimodiere of Littleton, Colorado, Tony (Lisa) Lajimodiere of Denver, Colorado, Heather (Benji) Hainault of Lake Linden, step-grandchildren, Ted (Kim) Polen and Becky (Jim) Bryd, nine great grandchildren, Matthew Palonen, Spencer Lajimodiere, Tyler, Carson, and Emma Lajimodiere, Charlie and Emily Hainault and Claire and Camille Lajimodiere, step-great grandchildren, Kaycie and Kelsey Polen, Ryan and Olivia Bryd, sister-in-law Violet Moehrke, nieces, Linda, Mary Jo, Lori, nephew, Alan and numerous cousins.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden, past president and member of the St. Anne’s Altar Society and an active member of the Lake Linden Unit 90 Ladies Auxiliary for over 50 years.  During much of that time she served as Unit Chaplain and faithfully attended every Memorial Day Service at the Lake Linden Village Hall and the various cemeteries.

Marge loved to be with people.  She was always sporting a festive hat to celebrate the different holidays.  She loved to get in her car and travel the country stopping at every historical landmark she could, read, watch westerns, sew, take photographs, play cards, pick agates and work in her flower garden.

For the past 2 years she had made her “home” at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility where she made many new friends with the staff and residents.  She still enjoyed making trips to the Casino and being chauffeured around by her children for Sunday afternoon outings including rides in her son’s Road Runner and cruising the lake on her daughter’s pontoon boat.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden.  The Ladies Auxiliary Unit 90 will have a service at 6:00.  A parish prayer service will be at 6:30.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Father Jeffrey Kurtz to officiate.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family suggests memorials be made to the Lake Linden Ladies Auxiliary Unit 90 for their charity work with Veterans.
