Margaret Mary (LaMarre) Rheault

Lake Linden: Margaret Mary (LaMarre) Rheault, age 87, former resident of Lake Linden, entered into eternal life on March 5, 2016 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City where she had resided for the past 2 ½ years. She had previously been living with her daughter, Kathy (John) Cummings in Lake Ann, Michigan.
Margaret was born on December 11, 1928 in Laurium, Michigan, daughter of Edwin C. and Laurian (DeMarios) Mills. Margaret graduated from Calumet High School in the class of 1945. After graduation, she married Gerard LaMarre in June of 1946.
During her life, she worked for L&M Variety store in Lake Linden. She raised her children at home until she earned her LPN degree from NMU. She worked at Dr. Kenneth Repola’s office and at Calumet Public Hospital for many years before opening her adult foster care home in Lake Linden. She was married to Raymond Rheault in 1976. Margaret retired in 1990.
Margaret was a caring, loving, giving person, especially to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a master gardener, baker, and cook.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husbands-Gerard LaMarre and Raymond Rheault; 2 children-Paul LaMarre and Michelle Haapala; sisters-Doris Hocking and Francis (James) Harmala; a brother-Gary Mills; and grandchildren-Mary, Benjamin, and Daniel Cummings.
She is survived by: a daughter-Kathy (John Henry) Cummings of Lake Ann and Traverse City; son-in-law-Andrew Haapala; step-daughters-Mary and Janet; step-son-Ronald; grandchildren-Kris, David, Andrea (John) Schomberger, Melinda (Christopher) Carter, Brian, William, Amber, Alexander, Jennifer, Antonio, Nicholas, Brittany, Kenneth, and Noah, Carrie (Jason) McNeil of Grand Rapids; great-grandchildren-Alec Cummings, Matt Holbrook, Kyle and Cody Carter, Jackson, Carter, and Sawyer; great-grandchild-Melissa (Allen) Heckel; great-great-grandchildren-Haydn and Evan Heckel; a sister-Jean (Royce) Paquette; brother-in-law-Fredrick Hocking; sister-in-law-Cookie Mills; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for this summer. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
