Loie Bidne

Lake Linden: Loie A. Bidne, age 79, of Lake Linden, passed away at home on February 8, 2016.

                She was born on October 28, 1936, a daughter of Carl and Allie (Varley) Mayer.  She graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School. After graduating from the U.P. Beauty Academy in Marquette in 1956, Loie opened her own hair salon in Lake Linden.

Loie was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden.  

Whether it was being a Boy Scout “Den Mother” or attending Little League games, Loie’s passion was her family and friends. She devoted her life to her children and her grandchildren.  Loie had a special fondness for the U.P. and her many friends here, choosing to come back when the opportunity arose.

            Loie leaves behind two children, Brenda (Ken) Stoltz of Leesburg, VA and Knute (Julie) Bidne of Leesburg, VA; grandchildren Alexa, Grant, Anastasia and Katarina; one brother, Carl V. (Pat) Mayer; and a large community of friends who loved her.

Loie is preceded in death by her parents, and granddaughter, Zoe E. Stoltz. 

In keeping with Loie’s wishes, there will be no public visitation.  Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.  

The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
