Hubbell: Lawrence “Twin” Clouthier, age 85, of Hubbell, passed away at UP Health System-Portage on June 11, 2016, after a short Illness.

                He was born on August 3, 1930, in Hubbell, a son of Louis and Mary (Perreault) Clouthier.  He attended Lake Linden-Hubbell High School.

                He enlisted in the Army, serving until June of 1952.  He worked locally for Uppco, retiring after 24 years with the company.

                He was married to Barbara L. Thomas on June 5, 1954 at Saint Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Houghton.  She passed away on April 13, 1982.

                He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Hubbell and was now a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hubbell.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Hubbell VFW Post #4624.

                He enjoyed his farm on the Post Road and gardening.  He also liked stream fishing and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

                He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife-Barbara; son-Larry; daughter-Karen; granddaughter-Sarah; brothers-Albert, Louis, Morgan, and Irving Clouthier and sisters-Margaret Randall, Dorothy Mildon, Doris Richards, Bertha Hallman, and Patricia Hager.

                He is survived by: 4 children-Mary (Bill) Rose of Dollar Bay, Steven Clouthier of Young America, IN, Sandy Lassila of Dollar Bay, and Julie Clouthier of South Range; grandchildren-Stephanie (Jordan) DeForge, Robbie Rose, MaKayla Clouthier, Daniel (Tristan) Clouthier, Joshua (Nichole) Clouthier, Blake Lassila, Margo Anderson, Lauren Anderson, Dylan Anderson, and Alexa Clouthier; great grandchildren-Emily, Jacob, Josephine, Ryland, Aidan, and Bryson; a sister-in-law-Marion Sweet of Grand Haven, MI; 2 special people: cousin-Mary Geshel and John Lassila; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

                The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Francis Dobrzenski to officiate.   Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with a prayer service at 7:30.  Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
