Hubbell: Kathryn Alice Monette, 96, of Hubbell, passed away at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility on November 9, 2016.
She was born January 24, 1920, in Hubbell, a daughter of Ed and Olive Doucette. She graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School.
She was married to Hubert Monette on May 21, 1940. He passed away on July 17, 1995.
Kathryn was a fantastic cook. She loved to travel anywhere. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by: her husband and parents, a son-Thomas, a grandson-Jordon, granddaughter-Susan Lynne, a great-granddaughter-Tristen, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by: 6 children-Paul (Sharon) Monette of Laurium, Carol Monette of Texas, Linda Monette of Illinois, Marilyn (John Gagnon) Monette of Lake Linden, Marian Roberts of Lake Linden, and Terry (Joe) Schimmel of Georgia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister-Cecile “Pete” Doucette; sister-in-law-Elaine Monette; and numerous other relatives.
The Funeral Liturgy will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 21, at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with Fr. Francis Dobrzenski to officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 until the start of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
