John "Jack" Cashell

Lake Linden/Livonia: John Joseph “Jack” Cashell, age 88, of Livonia MI, passed away on July 20, 2014.
He was born in Lake Linden, MI on December 27, 1925 to Jack and Annie (Soulard) Cashell. John graduated from Lake Linden High School in June 1943. After graduation, he moved to Detroit and was employed at Ex-cello Corporation. John served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952 as an M.P. stationed in Salzburg Austria. After discharge, he returned to work at Ex-cello Corporation, working his way up from a machine operator, computer operator, shift leader, supervisor, and finally Data Center Manager. John retired in 1988.
John loved to travel. One of his favorite trips was to Ireland, which included a visit to Rock of Cashel. He was a devoted Catholic and was supported the Cappucian Missions faithfully for many years.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Claire Cashell, and his beloved Ann Kristofik.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Fr. Francis Dobrzenski to officiate. Burial will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
