Jessie Josephine "Jo" Hannula Obituary

Rabbit Bay:  Jessie Josephine “Jo” Hannula, 88, passed away on Sunday, December 5th at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital, with her family by her side.

She is preceded in death by her sweetheart of 65 years, Charles “Don” Hannula, who has been waiting to walk her home again.

She is survived by her five children; sons Donald “Skip” (Debbie) of Lake Linden, Mark (Leslie) of Rabbit Bay, Eric (Sandra) of Holly, Scott (Kim) of Rabbit Bay; daughter Kathy (Chris) of Bainbridge Island, WA; six loving grandchildren, who will miss their dear Granny; Jennifer, Craig, Josh, Ashlee, Sean, and Brandon, and one great-granddaughter, Hayden. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Terry (LaDonna); sisters-in-law Bonnie and Sharon (David); several nieces and nephews, and an abundance of cherished friends.

A celebration of Jo’s well-lived life will be held in Rabbit Bay during the summer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jo’s name to the Bootjack Fire and Rescue Foundation or the Omega House in Houghton.
Jo’s family would like to give their heartfelt praise and gratitude to those who helped care for her: the compassionate staff at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital, her dedicated aides from At Home Companions, and the kindhearted Bootjack First Responders.
