Tamarack City: Jeanette Lepine, 84, of Tamarack City, died with her daughter and niece by her side on November 12, 2014, at the Omega House in Houghton. She had been a resident at the Omega House for 2 days.
She was born on August 20, 1930, a daughter of Leo and Irene (Codere) Marcotte. She attended Lake Linden-Hubbell Schools. She was employed at Our Lady of Mercy and later at Calumet Public Hospital for over 30 years as a Nurse Aide until she retired. She especially enjoyed her time in the OB Unit.
She was married to Vincent “Strike” Lepine on June 10, 1950. They were married for over 63 years when he passed away on February 17, 2013. To view his obituary: http://www.pearcefuneralhome.com/obits/obituary.php?id=532770 .
Jeanette was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Hubbell and the Altar Society. She will be remembered for the many funeral brunches she helped serve. She was a member of the Tamarack City Women’s Club. She liked to knit and crochet and made baby sets that were given to local families. With her family, they had years of enjoyment at the E. Grosse Pointe Shores camp, “Birch Cove.”
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a sister-Marilyn, brothers-Francis and Leonard, and a great-granddaughter- Addelyn Sue Olli.
She is survived by: 3 daughters-Marilyn (Richard) Isaacson of Calumet, Beverly Olli of the Houghton County Medical Care Facility, Roseanne (Jeff) Counley of McHenry, IL; 6 grandchildren-Joel (Kristy) Isaacson, Brad (Jodi) Isaacson, Jennifer Heikkinen, Jacob (Melissa) Olli, Nichole Olli, Tanya Counley; very close niece-Jean (Mike) Makinen and their children-Sarah (Michael) Malcolm, Karl (Lisa) Makinen, Marja Makinen, and James Makinen; along with many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Fr. Francis Dobrzenski to officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with a parish prayer service at 5:30. Spring burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Omega House in Houghton
