James Willmes Obituary

Copper City: James A. Willmes, 67, of Copper City, passed away at his home, on April 14, 2019.

                He was born on May 26, 1951, in Central Lake, MI, a son of Lester and Irene (Bourdeau) Willmes.  He was a 1970 graduate of Lake Linden-Hubbell High School.

                He worked for White Pine Copper, and went onto be self-employed for most of his life.

                He was married to Joan Haas on August 20, 1977.

                He enjoyed motorcycle riding and was interested in classic cars.

                Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

                He is survived by: his wife-Joan; 2 children-Scott (Lauren) of Shreveport, LA and Beth (Bryan) MacKenzie of Houston, TX; 3 grandchildren-Ava, Connor, and Emma; a brother-Ron (Anita)Willmes; 2 sisters-Mary (Larry) Marcotte and Janet Donovan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

                Friends will gather to remember Jim’s life from 6:00 until 9:00 PM on Friday, April 19 at the Cliff View Bar.  All that knew him are welcome.
