Bootjack:  James Albert Rheault, beloved son, brother, uncle, passed away at his home on May 2, 2014, after a long illness, from Pick’s Disease.

            He was born in Hancock on June 1, 1969.  He attended Lake Linden-Hubbell High School, graduating in 1987 as co-valedictorian of his class.  He graduated from Michigan Technological University in 1991, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, working shortly thereafter as an accountant for the next 12 years. 

            As someone who liked to help others, he was involved in many organizations.  He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden where he served as an altar boy, lector, and Eucharistic Minister.  He served in the 4th degree Knights of Columbus.  He had been a member of the Bootjack fire department where he served as the treasurer.  He had also served as the treasurer of the Copper Country Fire Fighters Association.  He was a member of the Lions Club; he had been a board member of Little Brothers; and he had served as Torch lake Township supervisor and Assessor.

            He liked to snowmobile, boat, play cards and travel.

            He was kind, gentle, and just.

            He was preceded in death by: grandparents-Albert and Olivine Rheault and Joseph and Louise Kocjan; an infant brother; a nephew- Daniel Paul Rheault II; and a brother-in-law-Jan Strieter, Sr.

            He is survived by: his parents-Reuben and Margaret (Kocjan) Rheault; brother-Dan (Patty) Rheault; sister-Sue Strieter; estranged sister-Judy; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

            The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Fr. Martin Flynn to officiate.  Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Monday at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with a parish prayer service at 7:30.  Lunch will be served at the Bootjack Firehall after the funeral.  Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
