Lake Linden: Hasseltine P. “Tina” Brinkman, 99, former resident of Tunnel Street in Lake Linden passed away on October 2, 2014, at Portage Point in Hancock where she was so lovingly cared for almost 7 years.
Tina was born on May 9, 1915, in Lake Linden, a daughter of David and Eva (Franks) Krause. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic School in Lake Linden. She worked as a cashier for the Quality Food Markets in Laurium and Lake Linden for 37 years.
Tina was married to Roy C. Brinkman on November 27, 1943 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lake Linden. Roy passed away on May 25, 1982.
Tina was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden. She was a member of the Extension Club. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She loved to bake for other people and she was known for her kuchen. The most important things to Tina were her family and her faith in God. She was a kind and loving person to everyone.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, and 2 sisters-Betty Jean and Margaret Chandonais.
She is survived by: 2 children-Gretchen (Jim) Brogan of Ontonagon and Don (Glenna)Brinkman of Boston Location; 6 grandchildren-Cherie Roehm, Jay Brogan, Debbie Meister, Jill Borseth, Scott Brinkman, and Shawn Brinkman; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister-Patricia (Bill) Wood of Rhinelander, WI; step-grandchildren-Jamie and Daniel Vollrath; a step-great-grandchild; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Father Francis Dobrzenski to officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, October 5 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30. Burial will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Eagle Harbor.
