Gene A. Frusti

Calumet: Gene A. Frusti, 79, of Calumet, passed away at his home on December 7, 2023.

                He was born in Detroit on January 3, 1944.  He graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School in 1963.  He held numerous jobs before going to work at the Calumet Schools for 25 years, where he was known and loved by all the children.

                Gene was married to Karen Provost on November 28, 1964.

                Gene loved spending time at the summer home at Big Traverse.  He liked deer hunting, fishing; and was well-known for his wood-working and handyman skills.

                He is survived by: his wife-Karen; 2 children-Gene (Lori) Frusti of Midland, MI and Rhonda (Fred) Claremboux of Ashland, WI; grandchildren-Crystal, Heather, Christopher, and step-granddaughter-Lisa; 8 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.

                At Gene’s request, there will be no funeral service.  A private celebration of life is planned for a later date.  The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at pearcefuneralhome.com
