Hubbell: Francis Poisson, 88, of Hubbell, passed away peacefully, after a long illness, at the Lighthouse at Hubbell on January 24, 2017.
He was born April 18, 1928 in Hubbell, a son of Winfred and Veronica (Perreault) Poisson.
Francis served in the Army from December of 1948 until December of 1952. He was a proud member of the Hubbell VFW Post 4624 and the Lake Linden American Legion Post 90. In April of 2015, he had the privilege to go on the Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and he loved his dogs.
He was married to Mina (Henz) in Hanau, Germany on October 14, 1951. She passed away on June 5, 2008. Francis was also preceded in death by: his parents, brothers-Herman (in the Korean War), Joe, Bob, Jerome, and sisters-Marie Stevens and Patsy Arens (who died the day before Francis).
He is survived by: daughter-Dolores Ferguson of Canada; daughter-Rosanne Poisson of Atlantic Mine; son-Francis Poisson of Hubbell; and daughter-Linda Poisson of Calumet; grandchildren-Allison and Jamie Ferguson, Ronnie, Michael, and Jason Baril, Joseph, Christopher and George Krainatz; numerous great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Bernadette Genovesi, Dolores Bastian, and Toni Bastian; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Saturday, January 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Calumet with Father Paul Manderfield to officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Friday at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with Military Service and a Parish Prayer Service to follow at 7 P.M.
