Edward Gardner Obituary

Lake Linden: Edward J. Gardner, 81, of Lake Linden, passed away on November 1, 2022 at the Omega House in Houghton, after a long illness.

                He was born on May 29, 1941, in Detroit, a son of Irene and Kyran Gardner.  He was a graduate of Cody High School in Detroit.  He served in the U.S. Army in Saigon, Vietnam.

                He was employed in the offices of the Pennsylvania, Penn Central, and Conrail Railroads until his retirement in 2000.

                He was married to Barbara Ianitelli Gardner on November 4, 2000.  They moved to Lake Linden in 2001.

                Ed was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, the Hubbell VFW, and Post 90 American Legion in Lake Linden.

                He loved to read, he enjoyed antique cars, riding with his long time motorcycle gang, and traveling to the Americade Rally in Lake George Village, New York.

                Ed was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and 2 sisters.

                He is survived by: his wife-Barbara, a sister-Jenny, and a brother-Jon.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 10, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden.  There will be no public visitation.  The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
