Bootjack: Dorothy M. Schultz, 91 of Bootjack, passed away on July 20, 2016 at her home.
She was born in Calumet on September 21, 1924, a daughter of Gustav and Emma (Kargela) Strom. She graduated from Calumet High School in 1942 and attended the IBM Business School. She worked for Blue Cross, Fisher Body, and later, GE.
She was introduced to Bootjack in the 1930’s and it was her favorite area since. The people and the area were great to her.
Dorothy was married to Clayton Schultz on July 16, 1949 in Detroit at Bethany Lutheran Church. He passed away on April 23, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother-Norman.
She is survived by: a daughter-Sandra Sue Schultz of Bootjack, special niece-Sue (Mike) Bennett of Belmont, MA; grandniece-Kate Wadsworth of Norwich, England; other nieces and nephews; and special 4-legged companions-Stryker and MandyBoo.
The graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 22, in section 70 of the Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Bootjack Fire and Rescue Foundation.
