Lake Linden: Dorothy Beaudoin, 86, of Lake Linden, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on March 22, 2020.
She was born on July 10, 1933, in Allouez, a daughter of Reuben and Ina (Soivio) Bammert. She graduated from Calumet High School in 1951. She worked raising her family.
She was married to Clement Beaudoin on May 17, 1952 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden. He passed just 3 weeks ago, on March 1, 2020
She was a member of the Laurium Shining Light Church.
Dorothy and Clem were a good team who enjoyed canning and making pasties together. She also enjoyed a competitive game of scrabble and doing crossword puzzles. She made herself available to anyone in need and always put others before herself.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, infant daughter-Mary Beth, son-in-law-Kevin Ponnikas, her brother-Reuben “Junior” Bammert, 2 sisters-Ruth Karpinen and Fay Kuitunen.
She is survived by: her children-Ronald of Lake Linden, Dean of Ironwood, Karen (Kent) Maki of Lake Linden, Brenda (James) Zeigler of Ohio, Lisa (Steve) Greenlees of Hancock, Christine Ponnikas of Coburntown, and Jeffrey of Lake Linden; grandchildren-Ross, Kyle, Cody, and Cory Maki, Megan (Andy) Young, Brandon Ziegler, Noah Ponnikas, Ryan and Tyler Greenlees, Keaton Beaudoin; 3 great-grandchildren-Natalie and Madeline Maki, and Ella Young; siblings-Barbara (Erland) Lahnala, Gordon (Rose) Bammert, William Bammert, Joseph Bammert, Kenneth Bammert, and Richard (Pat) Bammert; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family is very grateful to Portage home hospice and At Home Companions, who have provided exceptional care to Dorothy for the last seven months.
Due to restrictions on public gatherings, the funeral service will be held at a later time. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
