Obituary
Eagle River: Darlene Mary (Myers) Vuorinen, 76, of Eagle River, passed away at her home on January 16, 2023, after a long illness with glioblastoma.
She was born in Detroit on December 11, 1946 and moved to the Copper Country soon after. She graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell in 1965. She worked at numerous banks and as a homemaker.
She was married to Urpo Vuorinen in Eagle River on July 29, 1977.
Darlene was a good cook like her mother and father. She did a lot of sewing and hobby work.
She was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother-Rodney.
She is survived by: her husband-Urpo of Eagle River; 2 children-Randy and Tracy; grandchildren-Felicia, Jaakko, Miranda, Sophea, Sonja, and Bryson; great-grandchildren-Isabella, Kaylynn, and Weston; siblings-Garnet Myers of Colorado, Patti (Gary) Edwards of Lapeer, MI, Joseph (Nancy Jagger) Myers of Arizona, and Jamie (John Allen) Myers of Florida; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, May 22, at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden. The Pearce Funeral home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at pearcefuneralhome.com
