Hubbell: Charles Leon Huovinen, 67, of the Lakeside Group Home in Hubbell, passed away on August 15, 2019.
He was born on November 30, 1951, at St. Joseph Hospital in Hancock, a son of Raymond and Anne (Remillard) Huovinen.
He attended Copper Country Special Education Classes.
He worked at the Copper Country Workshop for over 30 years until his retirement.
Chuck was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Dollar Bay.
He enjoyed long car rides with his dad, all over the Copper Country. He also liked swimming, building puzzles, and walking on the beach at Hermit’s Cove.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew-Jason Lewis.
He is survived by: a brother-Jim (Dar) Huovinen of Eagle River, MI; a sister-Kathryn Lewis of Palos Hts, IL; nieces and nephews-Michelle (Barry) Schroeder of Evergreen, CO, Jeff (Amy) Huovinen of Clare, MI and Megan Huovinen of Dallas, TX; and great-nieces and great-nephews-Avery, Taylor, and Payton Schroeder, and Andy and Tessa Huovinen.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 21, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Dollar Bay with Fr. William Ssozi to officiate. Visitation will be from 10:30, until the start of the Mass at the church. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
In lieu of flower, donations may be made to the Lakeside Group Home in Hubbell.
