Cecil Crider Obituary

Calumet: Cecil Crider, 91, of the Calumet area, passed away at the Omega House in Houghton, on Thursday, July 7, 2022.

He was born on September 1, 1930 in Detroit, a son of Ancil and Helen (Hamilton) Crider.  He attended schools in Detroit.  He served in the US Army in Korea, with the 25th Infantry Combat Engineers.  He worked as a clay modeler for the Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1993.

He was married to Mary Ellen Osley on September 5, 1970 at Saint Olaf Lutheran in Detroit.

He was a member of Calumet VFW Post 3900, where he served as an officer.  He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Calumet.  He enjoyed golf and bowling.  He was a HAM radio operator and liked to work on his computer.

He is survived by his wife- Mary Ellen Crider, and many cousins and friends.

Private Services were held with Pastor Jared Howard and the Copper Country Veterans. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden was in charge of arrangements.
