Lake Linden: Catherine “Kakky” Kettenbeil, 89, of Lake Linden passed away on January 25, 2015, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on January 19, 1926, in Lake Linden, a daughter of Walter and Emma (DeMars) Dion. She graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School in 1944. She had worked at LeBlanc Grocery and Gilles Pharmacy.
She was married to Zane Kettenbeil on August 25, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They were married for 64 years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Altar Society. She had also been a member of the Post 90 American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by: her husband Zane of Lake Linden; her daughter-Judy Kettenbeil of Chicago; 4 sisters-Violet LeSage of Dearborn, Marilyn Hewitt of Inkster, Madeline LeBlanc of Green Bay, and Rosemary Guard of Northland, MI; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 29, at Saint Joseph Church with Fr. Francis Dobrzenski to officiate. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Spring burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
