Lake Linden: Bruce Charles Anderson, 49, of Warren, MI, formerly of Lake Linden and Bootjack, passed away on August 25, 2014, at his home after a 3 month battle with kidney cancer.

Bruce was born on February 17, 1965, a son of Don and Gale (Sarazin) Anderson.  He graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School in 1983.  He joined the U.S. Navy and served on several ships including the USS Ranger.  Later, he attended Michigan Tech where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology-Cum Laude, in 1992.  In 1993, he earned Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Mechanical Design Engineering Technology-Cum Laude.  He moved to the Warren area where he worked for Schenk-Pegasus and then with Detroit Testing Laboratory, which was bought out by Element Materials Technology in Warren.

Bruce served in the Naval Reserve for 10 years.  He enjoyed traveling and sports, especially hockey; he was an avid Red Wings fan. He also enjoyed camping, reading and playing Dungeons and Dragons.  He loved spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by: grandparents-Albert and Germaine Anderson and George and Lilian (Bonini) Sarazin.

He is survived by: his parents-Don and Gale of Lake Linden, brothers-David (Donna) Anderson of Ellicott City, MD and Tom (Lorraine) Anderson of Highland, MI; sisters-Kathy (Jack) Kumpula of Lake Linden and Beth Anderson of Lake Linden; 10 nieces and nephews-Kevin and Kara Anderson, Alex, Caitlyn, and Brent Anderson, Kyle, Cody, Mitchel, and Lilyana Kumpula, and Sienna Anderson; along with many friends and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Father Francis Dobrzenski to officiate.  Visitation will be Thursday, August 28 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30.  Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
