Lake Linden: Arthur “Art” Judnich 55, passed away in his home in Marietta, Georgia on January 23, 2016. Art was born to Joseph and Theresa Judnich on March 6, 1960 in Laurium, MI. He was the youngest of four children. Art was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Theresa, his brother Bill and his wife Gwenn. Art is survived by his sister, Linda Sanchez and brother, Dan (Debbie) Judnich, his nieces, Christina (Joel) Asiala, Anna Sanchez, and Jenna (Justin) Hester, his nephew Joseph Sanchez and great nieces, Mia, Kalila, and Callie, great nephews, Joshua and Landon and his special friends Kevin, Raylene, and Patty.
Art graduated from Lake Linden Hubbell High School and earned a certificate in construction supervision from Michigan Technological University.
Art spent his early work years in construction in Texas, and then with the Beck Construction Company of Atlanta, Ga for many years. He worked as a construction superintendent throughout the Southern United States, and made his home in Georgia.
Art was well known for his Fourth of July fireworks that took place at the Mud Lake camp. Art took pride in his spectacular pyrotechnic displays that was looked forward to by his family and friends. He worked and planned for weeks enlisting the help of willing apprentice pyro technicians to bring a bigger and better show each year. Art loved to help the Lake Linden Fire Department with their fireworks display.
Art was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Williams-Giroux Post 90.
Visitation with the family will be on Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. There will be a memorial service by the Sons of the American Legion at 7:00.
Interment will take place in the Spring at the family plot at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
