Arbutus "Boots" Dow

Lake Linden: Arbutus “Boots” Dow, age 90, of Lake Linden, passed away at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital on February 13, 2016, after a short illness.
She was born on July 15, 1925, in Mohawk, a daughter of Howard and Annie Irene (Hocking) Grove. She attended school in Mohawk, but lived most of her life in Lake Linden.
She was married to F. William “Bill” Dow on October 21, 1944. Bill died on March 26, 1976.
She was a member of the Lake Linden United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, and was a member of a card club and a bunko club. She liked to go to the casino and liked visiting the camp at Big Traverse. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved watching classic TV shows.
She was preceded in death by: parents; husband; brothers and sisters- Howard Grove, Jr, Garfield Grove, Daisy Irene McClaren, Geraldine Bartosh; great nephew-David Haralson; great niece-Susan Lynne Monette; great-great-nephew-Jeffery Chopp.
She is survived by: a sister-Winnie Haralson; uncle-William Nickels; special niece-Diane Carawan of West Virginia; great-niece and god-child-Tammy Chopp; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held in the Spring at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Lake Linden. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
