Jean (Stoel) Brooks

Lake Linden: Jean (Stoel) Brooks, 81, of Lake Linden, passed away at Woodland Haven in Hancock on April 9, 2018. 

She was born in Painesdale on February 17, 1937, a daughter of William and Elizabeth (Moilanen) Holappa.  She graduated from Doelle High School.  She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility for a number of years. 

She had been an active member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden. 

She loved car-rides around the area and looking for wildlife.  She enjoyed living on the Otter Lake Farm during her youth.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son-Michael Stoel.

She is survived by: her husband-Omer “Mo” Brooks of Norway; a son-Steven (Grace Atkinson) Stoel of Lake Linden; a brother-Robert Holappa of Dodgeville; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

Graveside services will be planned for the Norway Cemetery.  The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
