Lake Linden: Darlene Ann Maki, 78, of Lake Linden, passed away on August 3, 2017, at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born November 18, 1938, a daughter of Alfred and Annabelle Kitchen. She attended Houghton Schools.
She worked at Our Lady of Mercy Convalescent Home in Hubbell and did private nursing and home care.
Darlene was married to Dan Maki in 1959.
She attended the Laurium Apostolic Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, sisters-Greta and Marie, and a brother-Dennis.
She is survived by: her husband-Dan; 5 children-Mark (Suzie), Lynne (Doug) Kesti, Edward (Rhonda), Debora (Scott) Maki, and Tina (Craig) Kangas; grandchildren-Nathan, Christopher, Tanya, Michelle, Natasha, Jesse, Brandon, Allan, David, and Eric; numerous great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters-Theresa (Ken) Haralson and Janet Peloso.
The Funeral Service will be at 4:00 PM on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with Rev. Rodney Johnson to officiate. Visitation will be for an hour before the service on Monday.
Burial will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Lake Linden.
