Mohawk: Lionel Lee “Skip” LaCasse, 58, of Mohawk, passed away at UP Health System-Portage on February 20, 2018, with family by his side.
He was born on June 9, 1959, a son of Lionel and Marlene LaCasse. He worked as a welder, machinist, and fabricator.
He always had a love of the U.P. He liked to ride his motorcycle. He enjoyed bow hunting and painting. He had a strong sense of humor and was “cracking jokes right up to the end.”
He was preceded in death by his brother-Raymond.
He is survived by: his wife-Mary Deeds of Mohawk; 4 children-Robert Deeds, Rachel LaCasse-Fangmann, Jessica LaCasse, and Tyler LaCasse; 3 grandchildren-Ashlee Deeds, Briahnna Murphy, and Elsie Fangmann; Parents-Lionel (Charlene) LaCasse and Marlene (Jim) Andrews; 2 brothers-Ronald LaCasse and Jim Andrews; 2 sisters-Laurie LaCasse and Pequette Johnson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Private family services are planned for a later date. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
